Okada rider docked for murder

A 34-year-old commercial motorcyclist, Innocent Sikiru, was arraigned at the Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, yesterday, for allegedly stabbing a man to death.

The accused, whose plea was not taken, was arraigned before Magistrate T. Abolarinwa, on a one-count charge of murder.

The prosecutor, Insp. Jack Asuquo, told the court that the accused killed one Onoja Adoga after a misunderstanding.

He said: “Sikiru bought a motorcycle from the deceased’s elder brother and promised to pay after six months, otherwise, he would forfeit the motorcycle.

“After the sixth month the accused was asked to pay the balance but refused and the motorcycle was collected from him.

“A quarrel ensued between both over the payment of the balance and the accused inflicted a wound on the deceased brother’s head.”
