The Niger Delta Development Commission has lent its contribution to the development of the game of golf in the country through a golf talent hunt initiative.
Over 200 kids from the nine NDDC states have been engaged in the events so far that has been scheduled to rounded-off at Air Assault Golf Course on November 7th, 2010.
Mr Anthony Abolarin who heads the scheme says that the Commission is very exerting through the project, the potentials of the game to help develop the region. According to him; “The game is a brilliant avenue to get quite a lot that the commission hopes to get across to the youth to them.
“First, it would provide an opportunity to engage them in very gainful activity that has been discovered to actually been the highest paying sporting venture. Again given that people from this area of sub-Saharan African have been proven to have a natural instinct to excel in sports, we are confident that we have a higher chance of producing the best golfers from here than in any part of the world if we intensify
