Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Adamu, has urged aspirants to exercise decorum in their campaign activities by observing the rules of the game.
Adamu made the call in Bauchi when former Military President Ibrahim Babangida paid him a condolence and congratulatory visit.
He reminded political office seekers that “it is only Allah that gives leadership and counselled politicians on the need to adhere strictly to all the rules and regulations guiding campaign activities”.
The emir urged the politicians to shun tendencies cable of causing bitterness and chaos, adding that such actions were detrimental to development of any society.
Adamu thanked Babangida for the condolence and congratulatory visit.
Earlier, Babangida, who was in Bauchi as part of his campaign tour of the North-East zone, had said that he was at the palace to condole with the emir on the death his father.
and also to congratulate him on his appointment as the new emir.
He told the emir that it was not an easy task to rule but that ‘’Allah has promised that he would guide whoever he bestowed with leadership’’.
The former military president urged the emir to emulate the exemplary leadership qualities of his late father, Altai Suleiman Adamou, who, he said, lived ‘’a credible life’’.
Babangida was accompanied on the visit by former Senate President and former Speaker House of Representatives, Ken Yamani and Altai Gaily Annaba respectively.
Others on the entourage of BIB included the former FACT minister Altai Hama Abdullah, Senate Chief Whip, Kant Belo and Abdul Nine member House of Representatives.
