Gombe CAN prays for peace

By John Bulus
A one-million-man evangelist campaign aimed at praying for lasting peace in Gombe State in particular and Nigeria at large, is underway.

The crusade which is expected to kick off in a forth night in Gombe State is being organised by the state chapter of Christian Association of Nigerian, CAN.

Briefing newsmen in Gombe, the state chapter chairman of CAN, Reverend Abbare Kallah, said the meeting would bring rival, healing and deliverance to the people of the state and beyond.

The CAN Chairman also stated that the prayer is considered necessary as an avenue to appreciate God for the peace in Gombe State since its creation 14 years ago and also to ask God to sustain the atmosphere.

The crusade is expected to feature some prominent Nigeria’s international preachers like Reverend Uma Ukpai and other men of God.

It could be recalled that Gombe State is one state at the heart of North-Eastern region of the country’s geo-political zones that has not witnessed serious religious or ethnic crisis in recent times.

However, the states around it had, of late and from time to time, been immersed in many civil disturbances that even claimed innocent lives of the citizens and their properties.
