Chukwu cautions NFF

By Jacob Ajom
Former handler of the national team, Christian Chukwu has charged the Aminu Maigari-led board of the Nigeria Football Federation to put behind it recent happenings and chart a new course for Nigerian football.

Speaking in a telephone chat with Sports Vanguard Wednesday, the former national team captain said, “we are happy that they are back. They should make sure they bring everybody together and not see those who had issues with them as enemies. Whatever those people did was done for the good of our football. Personally, I am happy that normalcy has returned to our football.”

Continuing Chukwu reckoned that “We have lost a lot of grounds already and that is why they must be focused and get down to business because there is no time to waste.”

On the appointment of a coach for the national team, the former Rangers handler said members of the Nigeria Football Federation should ensure they did what was in the best interest of Nigerian football.

“I know whatever they do now will be hasty, but if they are sure of any coach they can trust, a coach that would bring the desired results then they should go for him without further delay.

But if they feel they want to advertise the post it all depends on their thinking. Whatever you and I say now will not be of any consequence,” Chukwu remarked.
