Bomb threat: Put security on alert, ACN urges FG

By Olasunkanmi Akoni

The Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, has stressed the need for Federal Government to put the security agencies on alert to prevent a recurrence of the unfortunate incident of October 1st bomb blasts in Abuja in which 12 people were confirmed dead.

According to ACN, the Federal Government must ensure that everything humanly possible is done to prevent another bomb blast, as allegedly threatened by the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND.

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said if MEND succeeded in detonating another bomb, it would have far-reaching implications for the country.

The party said since such attack would be a repeat of the process that led to the first one-warning by MEND, that it will detonate a car bomb in Abuja and the actual detonation of such bomb – it will leave few in doubt that the militant group was indeed responsible for the first blast, for which it claimed responsibility.
