2Shotz parties with fans at album launch

By Lolade Sowoolu
At last it came to pass. The very postponed, much talked about, I AM WILLIAM official album release cum release party held last Saturday at the popular Zamunda night spot in Victoria Island Lagos.

The album is the fifth to be released in the ten year professional recording career of rapper 2Shotz, CEO Umunnamu Records and former member Da Trybe.

The free for all party which began late Saturday night and rounded up in the wee hours of Sunday morning featured some colleagues including rapper Ikechukwu, new girl on the block; Zara, emerging rapper and dance champion Kaffy, M.I, Ruffcoin and Dubem of The Pulse; last year’s Star Quest winning group.

Embossed clearly in the flex and all over the venue was ‘Campari’ – the alcoholic brand which 2Shotz whose real name is William Orioha, brands. Guests had more than a fair share of drinking rounds while the host performed a number of songs from his 15-track album. The I AM WILLIAM album boasts of a number of collabos including Waje, MI, Jesse Jags, Ice Price, Zara and Olstars.

The first single off the album titled Oyoyo featuring YQ was released earlier this year and had an enthusiastic reception. Next to drop was the title track for which a DJ Tee shot video featuring M.I has also been released. The album is supposed to continue where the single stopped and is now selling on line, in stores and streets.
