Oceanic Bank International Plc is partnering the Lagos State Sports Endowment Fund (LSSEF) to ensure the success of the Nigeria Independence Corporate Run, a mini marathon organized to commemorate the nation’s 50TH Independence Anniversary.
The Corporate Run seeks to engage business executives for mental and physical development, while proceeds from the event will be committed to the promotion and development of sports and tourism in the state, among others.
The run, which will be flagged off by His Excellency, Governor Babatunde Fashola, will hold on September 26, 2010. It will commence from Tafawa Balewa Square and terminate at the Eko Atlantic City, Bar Beach in Victoria Island Lagos.
Describing its support for the event as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, the bank’s management said it is committed to collaborating with private and public institutions on projects that facilitate socio-economic growth and development.
“Oceanic Bank identifies with the activities of the Lagos State Sports Endowment Fund and believes that the partnership between both organizations will further promote grassroots sports and infrastructure development in the state.”
The bank’s management also noted that nation-wide activities aimed at promoting grassroots development will ultimately empower more Nigerians to realize their dreams and position the nation for sustainable economic prosperity.
