Independence Anniversary: Etisalat slashes call tariff

In the spirit of Nigeria’s 50th independence anniversary and in its commitment to better the lots of the people offering them affordable tariff structures, Etisalat Nigeria has introduced a new tariff proposition called Easy Life on its network to enable its numerous users have a worthwhile independence celebrations.

With the Etisalat Easy Life, customers on Easy Starter and Easy Cliq packages would be enjoying lower rates of 25 kobo per second while calling anyone, anytime, on any network in Nigeria starting from September 1, 2010.

According to the telecom giant, the half call rates tariff package offerd subscribers the benefits of doubling their call time whenever they load credit given the current call rate of 50 kobo per second. “The lower call rate is applicable on calls to anyone, at anytime of the day, to any network in Nigeria.”

Explaining the rationale and details of the tariff offer, Etisalat’s Chief Commercial Officer, Wael Ammar, said the company was committed to evolving new products and services as well as bringing value and affordable tariffs that were of utmost benefit to its customers who remained the core of their business.

“At Etisalat we believe strongly in rewarding our customers for their loyalty to the brand, particularly at an auspicious time like this when our company and Nigeria have cause to celebrate. While Nigeria celebrates her Golden Jubilee, as a company we are celebrating our second year of operations with an impressive 5 million customers. It is for reasons of this double celebration that we are offering our subscribers a chance to enjoy the easy life on our network.

“Easy Life is another innovative offer that is pocket-friendly and so, it makes life easy for our subscribers who constantly desire to stay connected to their business associates, families and loved ones without cost constraint”, he said stressing that the subscription to easy life has no effect on the current benefits on Easy Starter and Easy Cliq. According to him, subscribers can still enjoy the rest of the benefits like You & me, Bonus on incoming calls, free midnight calls, free browsing among others.

The CCO explained that the mid-night tariffs on Easy Starter and Easy Cliq would not be affected by the subscription into easy life, as it was meant to complement all other features available on both easy starter and easy c1iq.

“Easy starter subscribers will still be enjoying 10 kobo per second to all Etisalat lines between 12am and 4.30am. Easy cliq subscribers will continue to enjoy free midnight calls as usual provided the required conditions are met”, he opined.

Mr Ammar said they have developed series of adverts, some of which were already running in the print and broadcast media as part of the process of educating their subscribers about the new proposition.

Meanwhile, Etisalat subscribers wishing to enjoy the benefits of this latest tariff offer dial *220*1# and connect to the Easy Life. Upon subscription, a notification confirming the subscription is received.

Again, to confirm the subscriber status, you should dial *220#. Subscribers can also deactivate subscription to the offer by dialing *220*2#. However, subscription to the offer is automatically renewed every day at a daily access fee of N20 only
