Igbinedion advocates continuity in governance

By Gabriel Enogholase

BENIN — ESAMA of Benin Kingdom, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, Wednes- day in Benin, advocated continuity in governance as a way of ensuring a better society for the Nigerian people.

He made the call at a lecture entitled: “Building a World that is fit to Produce Complete Society: The Igbinedion Story”, organised in his honour by the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, as part of activities to mark his 76th birthday.

Commending the developmental strides of Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s administration, the Benin Chief said that Nigeria needed people that valued the country more than themselves.

On the alleged role by journalists in the differences between him and former Governor Chief John Odigie-Oyegun during his tenure as Governor, Chief Igbinedion advised journalists not to mortgage their conscience just as he said that he had put the episode behind him and forgiven those responsible.
