Agu a former keeper of the national team argued that the Eagles are still a team in the works. He said that the team will get better with each passing game.
“The first thing you have to look at in a game is winning the three points at stake. For that I am happy about our victory over Madagascar despite not winning by wide margin.
“But there is still a lot of work to do. We know that and considering the time, the schedules and when the players came into the camp, then I would say it was a good performance from the players.
“Now that we are gradually rebuilding the team, Nigerians have to be very patient because with patience the result would surely come. We the coaches will do all we can to put the Super Eagles where they rightly belong,” said Agu.
He praised youngsters Stanley Okoro and Ahmed Musa who won their first caps with the Eagles on Sunday.
“The two young players who we introduced into the game, did well in the match. That was why they were included in the team any way. They came in and they showed the stuff we had in mind before listing them in the team.“We are looking forward to seeing this kind of performance from them in subsequent matches.”
