Akala mobilises for Jonathan’s declaration

Oyo State is to make a full and spectacular presence at the formal declaration of the  President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan  for the next year’s presidential election  at the Eagle Square  today,  as over 6,000 delegates have already been mobilized to the nation’s capital to witness  the epoch making event.

The contingent is led by the State Governor, Otunba Christopher  Adebayo Alao-Akala who has been in the fore front of sensitizing and mobilizing support for the president.

He was the first governor to publicly declare unalloyed support for the presidential bid of Dr. Jonathan.

A statement issued by the Publicity Secretary of the Goodluck Support Group , Oyo State chapter. Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan,  said the Oyo state team is made up of  the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Taofeek Arapaja,  the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)  in the state , Chief Dejo  Afolabi  and all the  state executive committee members;  all the National Assembly members; State Executive Council members,  chairmen and members of Boards of Agencies and  parastatals,  local government  council chairmen , chairmen and executive members of party at the local government level.

Others are, the state Coordinator of the Goodluck Support Group (GSG) , Mr. Dare Adeleke, Senatorial Coordinators, Federal Constituency Coordinators, Local Government Coordinators, Ward Captains as well as Poll Supervisors.

At least 150 communal and self sponsored politicians from each of the 351 wards in the 33 local government areas in the state will be in Abuja for the declaration.

Alhaji Olaosebikan explained that the state decided to have full representation at the event in consonance with the steadfastness of the state governor, Otunba Alao_ Akala  to give maximum support to the presidential bid of Dr. Jonathan and the need for all the key players in the campaigns and election of the President and other elections in the state to physically witness the declaration and have full grasp of the essence of the declaration: the speech and the atmospherics.
