ABUJA— Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu, has urged the employers in the nation’s transport sector, under the aegis of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, RETAN, to support President Jonathan because of his achievements in the transport sector, among others.
Receiving executive members of the association in his office yesterday, Chief Wogu cited the widespread availability of petroleum products at uniform prices and the increasing availability of power as two successes recorded by the four months old administration.
A statement by Prince Samuel Olowokere, Assistant Director (Press), said the RETAN executive led by its deputy President, Alhaji Sabo Tanko, while promising support for the President in his election bid, however, called on the government to check increasing resort to lawlessness in some section of the sector.
According to the Labour Minister, “you are aware that prior to the present administration, availability of fuel product was a problem and even where it was available people had to queue for hours before they got it.
“At the earliest stage of this administration, fuel products were made available all over the federation.”
