THE University of Benin (UNIBEN) and a United States-based company, Goldenvale Consult, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on reorganisation of the security apparatus of the university.
The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Osayuki Oshodin, said at the MoUÂ signing in Benin yesterday, that it was the beginning of better days for students and staff of the university in meeting the security challenges of the 21st Century.
“The MoU,†according to him, “was to ensure that a non-intrusive and modern approach is used to protect our students and staff, including university property.â€
Also speaking, the Chairman of Goldenvale Nigeria Consult, Engr. Omorogie Ogbeide-Ihama, said the signing of the MoU was one of the ways he felt the company, under its corporate social responsibility, could give back to the institution, which he said had molded future leaders in the past thirty years.
