Shema didn’t cancel pro-Jonathan rally – Katsina govt

By AbdulSalam Muhammed

KATSINA — The Katsina State Government has denied a role in the circumstances that led to the cancellation of pro-Jonathan rally last weekend in the state capital.

The denial by the state government came on the heel of reports in some sections of the media that linked the Shema-led administration to the cancellation.

A press statement made available to Vanguard in Katsina, signed by the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Alhaji Maharazu Ahmad, described the report  as ‘largely mischievous’.

The statement noted that “the attention of the Katsina State government has been drawn to a certain media report, which tends to link Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema to the cancellation of the inauguration of a campaign office for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, in Katsina”.
