General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida has declared that nothing can stop him from contesting the 2011 presidential election.
Babangida made this declaration at his Minna Hill Top residence when a coalition of concerned and enlightened Nigerians residing within and outside the country, known as The Diaspora Group, visited him on a fact-finding mission to get confirmation on whether he would run for the post of the president in 2011.
The former Military President assured the group that his contesting the forthcoming presidential election was a foregone conclusion and that nothing could stop him.
Speaking while declaring their unwavering support to the former President for the 2011 presidential race, the National Coordinator of the group, Barr. Alec Utieyin-Scott, maintained that only a Babangida’s presidency can guarantee sustainable governance for Nigeria at this stage of the nation’s democracy.
He said: “At this budding stage of nurturing the nation’s democracy to maturity, it is expressly generic that a leader with similar wit and status of former President Obasanjo takes over to strengthen the polity and address the problem of leadership.â€
