Yenagoaâ€”The police in Bayelsa State,Â Tuesday, paraded 13 robbery suspects, including a man and his wife, who specializes in â€˜one chanceâ€™ robbery.
Also paraded before newsmen were an undergraduate and members of his gang, who specialized in car theft, whoÂ the police said dispossessed no fewer than six persons in the state of their exotic cars.
The Commissioner of Police, Elder Onuoha Udeka said the suspect alongside four others, had confessed to the crime committed by them, as they admitted to robbing six vehicles with a lap top.
The suspects according to the state Commissioner of Police were nabbed in separate operations by men of the command.
The arrested couples identified as Sunday and Kelechi,who hailed from Anambra State were arrested following a tip off by members of the public.
Though one of the suspects, Kelechi Igwuoke claimed ignorance of the offence, the Police Commissioner,Â said that she connived with the said Sunny Eze to rob unsuspecting commuters in their Toyota Corolla car.
The embattled couples according to the state police boss, were involved in what he described as â€˜one chance robberyâ€™ with their Toyota Corolla sedan car, when luck ran out on them.
Items recovered from them includedÂ assorted fetish objects, wrist watches, mobile phones and ladies traveling bags.
Elder Udeka, said the undergraduate and his gang were caught during a telephone conversation, while negotiating to sell a stolen laptop.
Other suspects were involved in house burglary in some parts of Yenagoa, the state police boss added.
Police sources said the suspects would soon be charged to court.
