WARRI — OVER 300 persons from the host communities of Delta Steel Company, DSC, have benefitted from the free health care services put in place by the company just as the Delta State Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama commended the organisation for taking health care closer to the people.

Utuama, who was represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Otumara, while declaring open the two-day event, assured that the government would support  the DSC to continue to bring health care closer to the people.

The services which cover free screening of patients with cases in Ophthalmology, Urology and Orthopaedic, was organised in collaboration with Fortis Hospital International at the DSC Clinic Ovwian, Aladja.

According to him, “DSC has keyed into the human capital programme of the state government by making health care service available to the people free of charge.

From what I see here today, I am hopeful that the DSC clinic, which used to be a place of pride in the past will regain its lost glory, especially with the Indian experts in various medical fields attending to patients and the kind of equipment they plan to bring to make the place a centre of excellence.”
