UGHELLI—The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogor, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State has adopted the state Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan as their gubernatorial aspirant for 2011.
Briefing newsmen at the end of a meeting of the elders and leaders of the party in Ogor, Chief J. Oduma, said their decision to adopt the Governor was borne out of his developmental strides in all parts of the state.
He reiterated that the people of Ogor were determined to partner with other stakeholders in the state to deliver Uduaghan in the 2011 gubernatorial election.
Congratulating Chief Benson Asore on his appointment as first member of the State Local Government Service Commission, Oduma thanked Governor Uduaghan for appointing one of their sons into the Commission.
He appealed to the Governor to empower members of the party in the area, noting that the people of the area were yet to be adequately empowered by the government.
“I wish to also use this opportunity to call on party members to get registered in the forthcoming voters’ registration exercise, if they have not done so in preparation for the forthcoming election,†he added.
