*As another robbers raid bank in Ondo

AKURE— An undergraduate of criminology at the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko in Ondo State, Balogun Michael has been arrested along with six others who robbed a member of the House of Representatives, Hon Olakunle Oluwole and killed two of his guards in Ondo town.

This was coming as about 20 armed robbers in two 18-seater bus invaded a commercial bank in Ikare-Akoko in Akoko North East local government area of Ondo State and carted away unspecified amount of money.
About six persons, including bank officers were reportedly wounded during a shoot out between the hoodlums and the police.

Parading the suspects in Akure with the 200 level student, the Police PRO, Aremu Adeniran said they were arrested by men of the State Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, at different locations in Ondo town.

Adeniran pointed out that other suspects arrested alongside with the student include Emeka Emmanuel, Sola Betiku and

Akinyotu Oladipupo who were arrested at Odopetu market area in Ondo town while others include Godwin Henry and Innocent Uwah were arrested at a popular hotel in Ondo town.

Two of the six suspects claimed that they are members of a political party in the state while two others said they are guards of an hotel owned by a chieftain of another political party, another a food vendor and a barber.

Items recovered from the suspects, according to him, included one pump action rifle, a damaged barrel gun, barrel gun, one giant cutter, sword, imported cutlass, life cartridge, and UTC axe.
