The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called for equal sharing of posts in the Ogun State chapter of the party by the two founding factions. One faction is led by Governor Gbenga Daniel and the other by Alhaji Jubril Martins-Kuye, minister of commerce.
The decision was taken at Wednesday’s meeting of the party’s national working committee. It was gathered that the move was to put the party on a sound footing ahead of the 2011 elections.
Simultaneously, former President Olusegun Obasanjo had a three-hour closed door meeting with Daniel at the Government House Abeokuta for the purpose of forging a common front for the elections.
