LAGOS—Angered by the perceived insensitive attitude of the management of the Nigeria Ports Authority, NPA, towards the grievances of members, the Senior Staff Association of Communications, SSACTAC, has declared a warning strike with effect from this week.
Addressing newsmen, the President General of the association, Mr Lasisi Adetunji Adesunkanmi said several meetings held between the workers and the Nigeria Ports Authority management over improved welfare did not yield any positive result.
Some of the vexed issues affecting the workforce include better condition of service, improved work environment, provision
of work tools and equipment and payment of monetisation of arrears.
The President General said six months after series of meetings held with the management of NPA, the problem still persists as none of the issues raised had been resolved.
