ABEOKUTA—MEMBERS of the Ogun State House of Assembly have been asked to reconsider their stance on the Bond issue in the interest of the people of the State. Stakeholders in the State made the appeal at the end of its one-day Ogun Stakeholders’ Forum held in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

At the end of the deliberation, it was agreed that a delegation among the stakeholders be sent to the Ogun State House of Assembly for dialogue and proper education on the need for the members to give the bond issue a speedy and favourable consideration.

Meanwhile, the Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Mr. Tunji Egbetokun, has accused the Otunba Olugbenga Daniel of Ogun State of being political with the N100 billion proposed bond, saying the House will not approve the bond.

Egbetokun who was reacting to the allegation of Governor Daniel that the House demanded for money before the House could approve the bond, declared that the lawmakers will not approve the ‘parting gift’ as bond.

The Speaker faulted the claims of Daniel that the State Assembly was working to destroy the progress of the state with their hardline posture to the bond issue, saying he should substantiate his  allegations against the House over the issue.
