…seizes their international passports

ABUJA – This is not best of times for four ex-helmsmen of the Nigerian Football Federation, Mr Taiwo Ogunjobi, Sani Lulu, Uchegbulam Amanze and Bolaji Ojo-Oba, as they spent over 10 hours Thursday at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, explaining the individual roles they played in an alleged mismanagement of about N1.4billion belonging to the football house.
 
The embattled NFF officials who where grilled by the anti-graft agency from 9.am tol 6:30 pm, Thursday, were however allowed to go home on administrative bail after they took turns to surrender their international passports to the EFCC.
 
They were equally mandated by the EFCC operatives that quizzed them  to sign an undertaking, promising to re-appear at the commission on subsequent date for further questioning.

The four indicted top NFF ex-officials are answering to over 100 allegations bothering on corruption, fraud and gross abuse of public office.

Operatives of the anti-graft agency had on July 8, stormed the NFF headquarters where they allegedly retrieved several incriminating documents against them.

According to sources at the EFCC, they were specifically grilled  for allegedly diverting about $125, 000 in the guise of booking hotel accommodation for players and officials that went to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup, $250, 000 allegedly siphoned through airfares, as well as the $236,000.00 that vanished from the coffers of the NFF in 2009.
