 By Peter Duru

MAKURDI—As the debate over the zoning arrangement of the PDP continues to elicit reactions across the country, a group under the aegis of Goodluck Jonathan Support Group has vowed to embark on mass rallies and sensitisation of Nigerians in order to drum up support for President Goodluck Jonathan, prelude to the 2011 elections.

Former member of the House of Representatives and Co-ordinator of the group, Mr. Samuel Obande, said this in Makurdi when he led members of the group on a courtesy call to the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Mr. Terseer Tsumba.
Obande informed his host that the group was determined to ensure that the socio-economic stability the nation has enjoyed within the short period President Jonathan has been at the helm of affairs of the nation was not cut short on the basis of zoning.

He added that the records of achievements of the President was enough motivating factor for every Nigerian to encourage him to run for the 2011 presidential election in order to ensure continuity and the enthronement of credible and people-oriented leadership in the country.

The former lawmaker intimated further that members of the group who are drawn from across the country would visit various constituencies in the country to prop up support for President Jonathan before the 2011 elections.

According to him, “we are witnesses to the tremendous progress we have witnessed in the socio-economic front in the last few months since our President assumed full leadership of our dear country.”
