ABUJAâ€”Directors of the various departments of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday began briefing the new chairman and national commissioners of the commission as directed at the maiden meeting of the new INEC boss, Professor Attahiru Jega with staff of the commission last week.
The briefing is scheduled to last throughout this week and about eight departments of the commission are expected to update the chairman and members of the commission on their activities as it relates to the conduct of elections and other sundry electoral issues.
The departments of the commission are public affairs, political party monitoring and registration, personnel management, finance, information communication technology, legal services.
Vanguard gathered that members of the commission took turn to seek clarifications on issues as they relate to the various departments and their roles in the conduct of elections.
