ABAKALIKI— Igbo Youth Movement, IYM, has described last weekend’s fresh killings in Mazah village of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State as politically motivated, warning that any attempt to destroy the lives of the Igbo and Christians under any guise would no longer be tolerated.
In a statement, weekend, IYM President, Elliot Uko, urged the federal government to ensure that it lived up to its constitutional responsibility of protecting the lives and property of Nigerians, irrespective of tribe, religion and place of residence.
“The latest unprovoked attack on Mazah village, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State on Saturday morning, is clearly political.
“The timing is designed to paint the country as an unstable polity. The sponsors are targeting the presidency and testing the will of the federal government.
“They also hope to truncate the general election. They do these because they hope to get away as usual,†Uko noted.
