Federal Capital Territory, Abuja has been declared as the safest place to live and do business in Nigeria for both indigenes and foreigners .
In a recent  survey conducted by the Patriot Platform, a socio-political organization in collaboration with Nigerian Police Force (NPF) asserts  that Abuja is relatively peaceful and conducive for business and human habitation.

Disclosing this fact to the media in Abuja, Daniel Okhiria, the President of the Patriot Platform, said that Patriot Platform’s initiative is aimed primarily to motivate  Nigerians, and ensure that all states in Nigeria are as peaceful as FCT by consciously working towards crime eradication in Nigeria and making the country a safe haven for all and foreign investors.

In his words “over the last 3 to 6 months we have worked in collaboration with the Nigerian Police to produce the true state of security in Nigeria with our aim and objective hinged on a desire to see things done properly in Nigeria and stop the bleeding in key sectors of our polity that often times stain the image of Nigeria.

“We hope to act as a watch dog to the government of various Nigerian states with a desire to better the image of Nigeria via drumming on them, the state of affairs in their state”.

“Our finding with the Nigeria police shows that Armed robbery remains the highest crime in Nigeria, it cut across all the state in the country, hence our next line of Action is to formulate a device to curb the high rate of robbery in Nigeria using each state as micro unit as against other state to curb robbery in Nigeria.

The patriot platform president did not only talk about the state of crime in Nigeria but called on the Federal Government to pay more attention to the security of the country.
Describing Nigeria as one of Africa’s most lucrative country to do business, Okhiria stressed that the country is doomed if security in the country is not held in high esteem.

In America for example, police officers are paid promptly; provided with cars; basic amenities and their children’s education well taken care of, all these will no doubt curb the possibilities of the officers collecting bribe and boost morale such must be the case with Nigeria police if crime must be reduced with culprit brought to books and bribery eradicated.
