Court stops AP from removing Idigbe

LAGOS—A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, has restrained African Petroleum Plc, and its chairman, Mr. Femi Otedola from terminating or removing company secretary/legal adviser, general manager, human resources, corporate services and communication, Mrs. Elizabeth Idigbe from her position, pending the hearing and determination of the suit she brought.

Trial judge in the matter, Justice Okechukwu Okeke, gave the order following an ex-parte application by the Mrs. Idigbe’s counsel.

Ruling on the application,  Justice Okeke, also restrained the defendants, their agents, servants, privies or otherwise howsoever from using his position as chairman of the Board of Directors to take any further step pursuant to the letter of
July 5, 2010 or otherwise to oppress, harass, threaten or purport to suspend, terminate and/or remove the plaintiff from her position or carrying out any other act prejudicial to her position in African Petroleum,  pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.
