Confused isn’t about 9ice’s marriage – Solidstar

Rising talent, Solidstar, has cleared the air about his latest video which was before now touted to be centred around rapper Ruggedman’s alleged role in the break-up of pop singer 9ice’s marriage to Toni Payne.
The controversial video is a 4mins 51secs cut directed by Clarence peters. Its titled Confused and dramatises betrayal by a close friend and cheating spouse. Confused is Joshua Iniyezo’s (Solidstar’s real name) second visual work after releasing the popular One in a million song and video which features iconic star, 2Face. The latter video stayed on the No 1 spot for three weeks on Trace Tv apart from topping several other local charts for many weeks.

About Confused, the 21-year old Isoko hailing Solidstar says he was not in anyway inspired by 9ice and Toni’s separation and that “the song is about my friend”.

Now out with a full body of work, the debutante’s 14-track audio, video, wall paper and ringtone enhanced single CD will sell for a surprising paltry sum of N100. CEO of the label Solidstar is signed to, Paul Cole of Achievas Entertainment explains that “we monitored his web pages on Twitter, Facebook and Myspace and found out that most of his fans are students. They are the target audience for this album and that’s why we made it affordable for them. It is just to say ‘Thank you’ to them”.

The gesture won’t last for long as already Solidstar is recording a follow-up album to be released in the second quarter of next year. “It will sell for N1000”, says label boss.

The Tuesday released album is titled after the lead single, One in a million. It features 2Face Idibia, Ill Bliss, Klever Jay, W4, Cartier, Jacuzzi and African-American rapper, Breezee. Other track titles include, Bless Me, Reason, So Hot and Money making machine. Album release parties will follow in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
