Community vows to resist DESOPADEC marginalisation

By Emma Arubi
WARRI — THE people of Ogulagha Kindom in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State have vowed to resist any  attempt by the state oil intervention agency, DESOPADEC, to further  marginalise them, saying that no viable projects commensurate with their oil production quota have been allocated to them.

In a statement by the Chairman and secretary of the Movement for the Actualisation of a Better Ogulagha Kingdom, MABOK, Mr. Ebikeme Abanre and Mofort Okeboh, they accused the DESOPADEC Chairman, Chief Wellinghton Okrika, of short-changing them in the scheme of things, noting that while other communities were getting over 25  projects from the Commission, Ogulagha had very few and minor projects.

While urging the Commission to go back to the drawing board and come out with something tangible for the kingdom, they promised to legally challenge the Commission.
