IBADAN Former Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Dele Alake and two others are now in police custody in Oyo State over alleged shooting at the convoy of the former Assistant Inspector General of Police, Chief Tunji Alapinni on Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olabisi Okuwobi, the incident happened in Ibadan on Wednesday when the former AIG was coming from Lagos in his Toyota Land cruiser Jeep marked TJ 10 AAA.
She said another car number plate NT 963 KJA allegedly fired gunshots when the ex-police boss overtook the convoy breaking the windscreen of the Alapiniâ€™s car.
She said as a result of the gun shot, the former police boss sustainedÂ injury in his right arm.
During investigation she noted that items such Pump Action gun marked R442263, four live cartridges were recovered from the suspects. Also an identity card and a firearm license number 002026 allegedly belonging to Mr. Alake of Plot 2 Aladelola Street, Ketu, Lagos was also recovered.
