ABUJA — National chairman, youth wing of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Dr Abel Damina has berated those rooting for the zoning formula saying Nigerians should instead search for credible leaders to lead the country in 2011 and beyond.

In a statement, Dr Damina argued that rather than spend time on the zoning debate, leaders should pay more attention to launching a search for a credible leader that can re-invent the country no matter where he comes from.

According to him, the time had come for all stakeholders to ensure that politicians were not allowed to hijack ballot papers and other election materials, moreso as the president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan had promised to ensure that every vote counts.

He said, “We must commend the efforts of the federal government so far. There are indications that the government means well and is committed to the conduct of a free and fair election in 2011.

The PFN leader who is also the senior pastor of the Power City International Church maintained that “as youths who are interested in the good of our country, we are not resting. Through prayers and practical involvement in the affairs of our country, we are sure that we shall have the Nigeria of our dream. We want the re-invention of  our national dream.”

Besides, he said “Nigerians are getting tired of bad governance. We want a change. That is why we believe that instead of spending time to talk about zoning, we should think more about how to get a credible and transparent leader that has what it takes to fix this country.

He also hinted that youth wing of the PFN is planning to mobilize some 40 million youths across the country for what they call a youth jubilee walk in all parts of the country, as their way of persuading the federal government to address the decay in the society.

The rally, according to Damina, is planned to hold across the country and at the Federal Capital Territory. The youths would be expected to also use the rally to organize prayer sessions in designated churches in all the states to mark the end of the road show.
