MAKURDI — Barely seven days of the endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan by the stakeholders and leaders of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Benue State as their Presidential candidate at the forthcoming general elections, the President’s posters have flooded major towns in the state.
The posters which were pasted in strategic places across the town have virtually taken over all available spaces at major roundabouts and billboards in Makurdi town.
The inscription on some of the posters read, “Nigeria for Goodluckâ€, “Nigeria Needs Goodluckâ€, and “We Need Goodluck as a Nationâ€.
Also inscribed on the posters was the name of a political organisation which goes by the name, ‘Goodluck Support Group’, which also claimed responsibilities for the spread of the posters in Benue State.
Though no member of the group could be reached for comments on the development, Vanguard reliably gathered that the group has been on the vanguard of drumming support for the ambition of President Goodluck Jonathan in the state.
It was also gathered that the posters were noticed in strategic positions in far away Gboko, Otukpo, Katsina-Ala and other local government areas of the state.
