Former Delta State governorship aspirant on the platform of the defunct Grassroots Democratic Movement, GDM, and now a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Engr. Goodnews Agbi, has urged President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the 2011 presidential election, stressing that Deltans and other Nigerians should vote for him.
He also scored Delta State government low, especially in terms of development in Isoko area of the state. Speaking in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area, Agbi said the government’s achievement was not commensurate with the billions it had received in the last three years.
According to Agbi, who is a member, Dr. Edwin Clark’s led Delta/Elders Leaders and Stakeholders Forum, “the state government has performed poorly hence Isoko people should not support it in 2011, as the people have not benefitted from the administrationâ€.
The leader, Isoko Political Movement, IPM, a grassroots mobilization group for political change in Isoko land, said the state government was so inactive that during the recent visit of President Jonathan, he (Jonathan) could only commission two projects.
Agbi urged the people to vote for a government in 2011 that will be sympathetic to their cause.
