ASABA — MEN of the Delta State Police Command said they have arrested two dismissed army officers, who specialize in camouflaging in army uniform to rob innocent citizens on the highways.

Nemesis caught up with them, when they were nabbed at Oghara after dispossessing a woman of her unregistered Honda Accord car along Ibadan/Akure expressway.

State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Charles Muka, in a statement in Asaba yesterday said, “Delta State Police arrested robbers who robbed in army uniform. “On July 11, 2010, we received information that two armed robbers dressed in army uniform robbed one Mansura Ayebo, a female of her unregistered black Honda
Accord car along Ibadan/Akure expressway.

Through our modern communication system, information was sent to all nipping points and at about 18:00 hours same day, the said car was intercepted at Oghara.”

He added that the two suspects found with the car (names withheld) confessed to robbing the car while in army uniform and that they were dismissed for deserting the Army, adding that “investigations were on, while efforts are on to handover suspects and the car to Ondo Police Command.”
