United States, Wednesday advanced to the 2nd  round of the 2010 World Cup  with a  Landon Donovan’s late  goal against Algeria to top Group C and join the World Cup’s elite in the last 16.

Donovan scored in the first minute of stoppage time off a rebound.

The match was played at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, Tshwane/Pretoria.
