Committed to make a better world for its customers through diverse business and innovative technology, manufacturing giant in electronics and home appliances, Samsung has announced a new partnership with DjCom limited to float the first LCD and Plasma television manufacturing plant in Nigeria.
Managing Director DjCom limited, Mr. David Safa disclosed this last week in Lagos at a press conference to mark the official declaration of the partnership.
The deal which took effect from June 1st, 2010, is expected to birth the first manufacturing line for the production of LCDs and Plasma screens in West Africa sub-region. In addition to the new manufacturing plant to be established within the year. Part of the deal is appointment of Djcom as distribution partner for all Samsung products in the sub-region. To this effect, service centres are also going to be established in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja. This is expected to create mass employment opportunities for the people in the region.
With this new arrangement, DjCom said it is set to leverage the advantage of the new deal to be a leader in the distribution of electronics and other household appliances in Nigeria and to help project the latest Samsung products in the market.
Safa said “With the backing of technology exchange agreement, with international partners and Samsung, we are working towards becoming the leading manufacturer of electronics and home appliances for brands in the country. This programme will also create a wide range of employment opportunities for local youths and improve the Nigerian industry.
“At DjCom, we are inspired by the federal government’s call for foreign investment and we are driven by a genuine desire to make substantial impact in the growth and development of Nigerian economy.â€
Towards achieving this goal, Safa said all operations of the company will be focused at ensuring maximum customer satisfaction in attracting their attention, gaining trust and retaining their loyalty.
According to him, the collaboration is a package designed to greatly enrich the Nigerian business environment, enhance employment of labour and redefine the way distribution business is conducted in the West African sub region.
Managing Director of Samsung, West Africa, Mr. Jin Uk Shin, who also spoke at the event said “Today marks a great point on the road to greater success for the Samsung brand in Nigeria. As we have said before, Samsung will continually seek out new and better avenues to constantly improve the delivery of these products to our customers all over the country.â€
“The partnership of Samsung with Dajcom Nigeria is another progressive step in strengthening the stronghold of our global leadership in consumer electronics, telecommunications, information technology, digital imaging and home appliances,â€he added
He pledged the commitment of  Samsung in creating highly innovative, futuristic products for its customers and focus on ground-breaking innovations in technology and personal customer satisfaction.
According to him, the choice of  Dajcom as a channel partner was borne out of the conviction of its ability and commitment to deliver Samsung products at the door steps of the dealers and within the easy reach of everyday Nigerians, as well as its commitment for full-scale in-country production, cross-country distribution and outstanding service provision.
“It is clear that this match is an excellent one. Together, Samsung and Dajcom will help to further enrich the Nigerian economy as employers of labour, providers of quality service, and joint partners in national progress,†he stated.
Dajcom was formally incorporated in Nigeria in the year 2002 as a manufacturing and trading Company, with the goal of becoming the premier manufacturer of Electronics and home appliances not just in Nigeria but in the West African sub-region.
