Plateau varsity resumes academic activities Sept

Jos — The Plateau State University, Bokkos is to resume normal academic activities in September, Chairman of Governing Council, Professor Daniel Saror has announced.

He said after an inaugural meeting of the council that necessary steps would be taken to recruit new and part time staff for the smooth take off of academic activities in the coming session.

He said the Vice Chancellor, Prof. John Wade, has been mandated to take steps to admit students for the next session as well as put in place necessary facilities needed to get down to serious business.

Saror said with the assurance given to the council by Governor Jonah Jang, he was confident that the re-opening would be smooth. He said infrastructure affected by the long period of closure would be fixed while others would be provided for the comfort of staff and students when the university re-opens. He gave assurance that outstanding salaries owed staff would be paid soon.

Also speaking, the vice chancellor said necessary contacts were being made with stakeholders to restore past contacts that would assist the university regain lost grounds.
