UGHELLI—NON-Academic Staff Unions of the three Polytechnics and three Colleges of Education in Delta State,  have issued a 21-day ultimatum to the state government to implement the Consolidated Tertiary Education Institutions Salary Structure, CONTEDISS.

The unions, SSUCOEN, SSANIP and NASU in a communique by their branch chairmen and secretaries in Ughelli, Delta State, also demand, “the immediate stoppage of the contributory pension fund, pending when the affected workers have chosen their pension fund administrators, and deducted monies duly accounted for.

“The unions demand that the 12 months CONTISS arrears owed Colleges of Education, Agbor and Warri and 33 months CONTISS arrears owed DSHEP Institutions by the Delta State government be paid immediately. The unions strongly demand that the 36 months mobilization arrears accrued to the State Colleges of Education and Polytechnics be paid without further delay.

“The unions detest the neglect of infrastructural development in the State Colleges of Education and Polytechnics due to non release of fund by the Delta State government for capital projects,” adding “the unions should not be held for any industrial action emanating from the failure of the state government to meet the aforementioned legitimate demands,” they said.
