Eagles’ boss Lars Lagerback has promised to repay Nigerians with victory over Greece in their second match of the World Cup after losing the first against Argentina.
The Nigerian team had been hailed for playing well against the star-studded Argentina whom many, before the match, believed would paint Nigeria with goals. Despite the loss, Nigerians have spoken glowingly about the transformation the Swede has brought to the team in his short spell.
Reacting to the flurry of praises yesterday moments after the Eagles training in Bloemfontain, Lagerback said that he was happy with reactions and comments he received back home in Nigeria and promised to repay the fans with victory over Greece. “I have heard that many good things have been said of me and the Eagles.
I am extremely happy but I think I owe the Nigerians victory against Greece and to make sure that we do well in the World Cupâ€, he promised.
