FG reinstates Embassies’ land

ABUJA — The Federal Executive Council, FEC, yesterday directed that all plots of land owned by foreign missions in Abuja, which were earlier revoked  by the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Administration in 2004 under former Minister, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai should be reinstated immediately.

The weekly FEC meeting was the first to be presided over by Vice President Namadi Sambo.

The move by FEC to give back the several plots to their original owners, Vanguard gathered, is in order to maintain cordial bilateral relationship between Nigeria and each of the affected countries, as Nigeria also has several property across the world that are yet to be developed.

While the embassies will be celebrating this good news same cannot be said of some 60 owners of plots of land whose property were ordered to be revoked without further delay by FEC

The revoked 60 plots of land which are located in the high brow Central Business District within the Federal Capital City, FCC, were said to be irregularly allocated.
