Argentina coach Diego Maradona singled out Eagles keeper, Vincent Enyeama for praise following his excellent performance in yesterday’s group B opener at the Ellis’s Park in Johannesburg.
Maradona who was tensed up during the game stated that the Eagles could have pack up four goals, but for the heroics displayed by Enyeama.
“The Nigerian goalkeeper was good. We could have scored more goals,â€said Maradona.
Enyeama was clearly man of the match for the Eagles as he made daring point blank saves to deny Lionel Messi from scoring his first World Cup goal. The Eagles, however, missed several chances, something that left Maradona visibly worried and he was looking out of place with his oversized suit.
The Argentine legend refrained from making statements about his team winning the World Cup. “I cannot say if we would play in the final, since I have not seen the other teams.â€
