The problems caused by the country’s epileptic power supply to organizations, industries, government agencies and private individuals can now be managed following the introduction of Power Management Solutions, PMS by Eaton Corporation, one of the foremost power management companies in the world.
According to Eaton, “there are nine common types of power problems, including power failure, power sag, power surge, undervoltage, over-voltage, switching transient, line noise, frequency variation and harmonic distortion.
Based on three UPS topologies, Eaton offers a wide range of UPS solutions to provide an appropriate level of power protection against different power problems and failuresâ€.
Eaton said it served its customers in any business where a high level of power quality is critical for success including IT and data centres, telecomms, media and industry among others. Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs), are used as back up system in case of a power failure to prevent downtime.
This type of protection is essential, but is only fully effective if the user is in control of the situation. However, Eaton’s PMS notifies users immediately of the status of the power quality and distribution system, which can initiate automatic actions depending on the events, control the system remotely and manage it more effectively.
Other benefits to be derived from using Eaton’s power management solutions included real time notification, which makes it easy to prevent or analyse possible failures immediately; prevention of data losses by enabling controlled shutdown of servers and PC operating system; viewing and analysing power events and measured values from recorded logs; and saving time and money with remote equipment control which removes the need for additional site visits to restart equipment.
