Delta doctors task FG on electoral reforms

Delta Doctors in Diaspora, DDD, an umbrella body of medical doctors of Delta State origin abroad, has asked the Federal Government to fulfill its promise to carry out electoral reforms, adding that  government must conduct credible elections in 2011.

President of DDD, Dr. Isioma Okobah, gave the charge in Asaba, at the 11th anniversary of  democracy in Nigeria and the 3rd year of Governor Emmanuel Uduagahan of Delta State, explaining that the present administration now has the opportunity of writing its name in gold by implementing its policy programmes in the area of electoral reforms and  conduct of credible polls in 2011.

She particularly emphasized the need for the enthronment of the philosophy of one_man, one_vote in other to elect persons of proven integrity and upright moral background who can give the electorate quality and result oriented representaion at all levels of governance.

Dr. Okobah commended the Delta State government on the giant developmental strides it has recorded in the last three years and called for the sustenance of the current tempo of infrastructural development in the collective interest of Deltans.
