ASABA  —    FOLLOWING the disclosure by Delta State Governor,  Dr. Emmanuel  Uduaghan,  last week that he will soon drop some commissioners who  are no more loyal to him, panic has gripped some of the Commissioners.

Investigations by Vanguard showed that few of the Commissioners regarded by their colleagues as ‘powerful’, having found their way into the kitchen cabinet of the Governor are now the toast of the commissioners, who are not sure of their positions.

Among the most ‘powerful’ Commissioners in the kitchen cabinet is an Isoko-born journalist and former labour leader.  He is said to be very close to the Governor and has his ear.

He is said to have gone underground as he is being bombarded by his colleagues since the Governor openly made the pronouncement last Thursday,  during the swearing in of a Special Adviser on Ethnic Harmony, a newly-created office, Chief Elizabeth Ogbon-Dey at Government House,  Asaba .

Uduaghan had told his Commissioners and political aides that “your loyalty should be 100 percent to this administration.

I am giving you two weeks to put in your papers (resign) if you feel you are no more loyal. You cannot break or abandon the oath of office and oath of allegiance you took.”

It was learnt, that some Commissioners are now wary of making  calls to some personalities considered to be bracing up  to challenge the re-election of Governor  Uduaghan in 2011, as they fear their phones may be tapped.
