14 NSCDC members risk dismissal in Adamawa

By Umar Yusuf

YOLA —  No fewer than 14 personnel of the Adamawa State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, risk dismissal as they collapsed during the passing out parade in Yola.

The 14 personnel who form the first batch of recruits of the command collapsed and were rushed out of the parade arena.

Some of them were reported to be receiving treatment at various hospitals at press time, even as many were said to be on danger list.

Addressing the passing out parade, Assistant Commandant General of NSCDC in charge of Zone “C” Bauchi, Mr. Sebastin Ihebom directed that all the officers who collapsed during the passing out parade be dismissed.

He said their inability to withstand the rigour of the parade suggested that they were not physically and mentally equipped to cope with the demands and operations of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Ihebom observed that “for the 14 officers to collapse while on passing out parade points to a direction that they cannot fit into the activities of the Corp.”

He directed that names of the collapsed recruits be sent to the zonal office immediately for appropriate action.
