VC makes case for alternative energy sources

WARRI — WITH the on-going reshuffling of political staff in the Presidency coming on the heels of the ascendency of Goodluck Jonathan as substantive President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, there are reports that a number of people, including a serving local government chairman in Delta North are been pencilled down for the position of special assistants to the President.

It was gathered that the chairman has already been contacted by the Presidency over the new appointment but it is not clear whether the council boss has accepted the offer.

A close associate of the chairman said: “I think that the council chairman is taking his time to weigh the pros and cons of the offer from the Presidency vis-a-vis retaining his number one position in his local government.

I believe the choice is a weighty one for him but I am sure he will definitely make a decision that will further his political career.” Meanwhile it was learnt that the Presidency would not wait indefinitely for him so he has to decide quickly.
