THE Senator representing Delta State Central Senatorial District in the Senate, Prof. Adego Eferakeya has said Urhobos would contest the 2011 gubernatorial election in Delta State.

Briefing newsmen after a close door meeting of Delta PDP (Urhobo caucus) Planning Committee held at his Sapele residence, Eferakeya said there was never a time the governorship position in the state was zoned.

He said; “everyone in Delta State is free to contest the position of governorship. There was no zoning and there has never been zoning in the state.”

Speaking in the same vein, a chieftain of the PDP in the state, Chief Austin Uloho said; “we are planning towards the 2011 election. There are so many Urhobo sons contesting for governorship in 2011.

“There is nothing like power shift and we have never discussed power shift. I have always said it that people who discusses power shift in their bedrooms are on their own. We are with the Urhobo people in this matter. The Urhobos will contest 2011 gubernatorial election.”
