By Tony Edike

ENUGU—THE Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Zarewa, has charged officers and men of the command to engage themselves in activities that will develop their intellectualism for the benefit of the force.

Speaking during a book presentation by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, the Commissioner noted that no intellectual acquisition would be a waste for his men.

Zarewa said that the nature of their work revolved around intellectualism and would require constant updating of knowledge to cope.

Commending the focus of the book, titled Public Relations: A practical Approach, the Commissioner said he was ready to encourage officers that indicated  interest to develop themselves as long as it does not affect their work.

He said, “all over the world, book writing is tasking and money consuming, but intellectuals and academics have persisted. I, therefore, urge all of us to challenge ourselves by supporting these young men. We are conscious of the fact that Public Relations is all about creating cordial relationship with various publics,  that is a more reason why we should support such gesture.”
